Agenda Item 1: Decision on Project Topic

The team evaluated three available datasets and reached a consensus to proceed with the Colombian Fintech Financial Analytics (COFINFAD) dataset.

  • Rational: The dataset is comprehensive, structured, and documentation is readily available.

  • Accessibility: The download process is straightforward, allowing the team to begin data wrangling immediately.

Discussion on Methodology

The project will be divided into three distinct analytical components. Each member will lead one module to ensure comprehensive coverage of the visual analytics spectrum:

  • Module 1: Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) * Lead: Ng Meng Ye

    • Focus: Investigating the correlation between socio-demographic markers (age, income) and transaction behaviors (frequency, volume).

  • Module 2: Customer Segmentation (Clustering) * Lead: Chandru Kolanchiyappan

    • Focus: Applying clustering techniques (e.g., K-Means) to identify distinct user personas based on financial engagement profiles.

  • Module 3: Predictive Modelling * Lead: Gautamgovan Elangovan

    • Focus: Developing models to predict Customer Satisfaction and Transaction Activity using behavioral and digital engagement variables.
